Bring a Friend to “A Message & A Song” – “Let Down Your Nets”

Christ Community United Methodist Church (CCUMC) announces a “Bring a Friend” open house Sunday, Jan 22, 2012 at 6:30PM. Worship leader Gary Weeks will deliver an inspirational hour he tags a “Message and A Song” on Luke 5:1-11.  “Let Down your Nets, gather the bounty, drop your nets and follow me” are lyrics from a new song penned by Weeks to highlight the message of this section of Luke. In this passage Luke, the historian, recounts Jesus calling the first disciples into service.  “I include an audio clip by Bill Cosby to illustrate the typical American response to this passage,” says Weeks. Wondering how the popular comedian Cosby connects with the biblical historian Luke? Be there or be unaware!
Weeks has invited veteran guitarist, vocalist and worship leader from Believers Chapel North, Karl LaGray to help present the CCUMC songwriter’s latest composition. “Let Down Your Nets” will be presented by Weeks, LaGray, Denise Weeks-Bush and Dave Claver.
