Christ Community
United Methodist Church

Rev. Adrienne Phillips, Senior Pastor

Rev. Adrienne L. Phillips is the new Senior Pastor of Christ Community UMC. She comes to Syracuse having served the past seven years as pastor of an urban UMC in Rochester, New York with a  focus on preaching and teaching, urban/suburban partnerships, missional ministries, outreach, and youth initiatives.

Rev. Phillips possesses a devotion to pastoral care, recognizing the importance of personally accompanying individuals and families on their journey through life, offering the presence of Christ, support, and love. A deep passion for God's Word informs and inspires her preaching, leading Rev. Phillips to embrace the title, “The Preacherwoman!”

Her ministry with Christ Community UMC is God-directed  and in partnership with gifted members of the Christ Community Church Family who are active participants in prayer, worship, church leadership, Christian Education, Bible Study, mission work, and spiritual formation. The development of new and diverse relationships in the surrounding area and Syracuse are a focal point, along with discovering additional pathways to offer Christ to the world.

Rev. Phillips is excited about her new church placement and anticipates that God will use her in ways that will help connect persons more deeply with Jesus Christ and each other.
