Paige's Butterfly Run is June 5th!
Now in its 14th year, Paige's Butterfly Run was created to commemorate the memory of a brave little girl, Paige Arnold, who was a member of our Christ Community UMC family. Her parents, Chris Arnold and Ellen Yeomans, still attend our church. Paige was a student at Palmer Elementary in Baldwinsville when she was diagnosed with leukemia. She died in 1994 from complications that occured as a result of a bone marrow transplant that was to have saved her life. Recently, Kareem Abdul Jabbar had the same surgery, and thanks to the research that has happened in the years since we lost Paige, he survived the surgery and faces a healthy future.
The Butterfly Run invites both walkers and runners. CCUMC has a team; we need 50 participants this year to help us reach our goal! You see, Paige's Butterfly Run not only celebrates Paige and her family, but it raises funds for research, for families who need help while their children are patients at Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse, and simply for those needs that families face when their child has cancer. With your help (walking or running, AND getting sponsors to donate money) we hope to break the 1 million dollar mark this year. Details can be found at: www.PaigesButterflyRun.org
If you can't walk or run, please make a donation. Help CCUMC put the total dollars raised over that $1 million mark. Our CCUMC Team will be collecting registrants through May 23rd. The registration fee is $20/person ($15 for any additional family members). Registration forms will be available at church starting April 18th, or can be printed off the website. Completed registration forms and sponsor dollars raised to date must be turned into Pam Youngs-Maher by Sunday, May 23rd.

HERE'S ANOTHER WAY TO HELP PAIGE'S BUTTERFLY RUN!
-Use the attached voucher with any purchase (books, magazines, DVD's, music) at the stores on the 5th and 6th and a portion of your purchase will be donated to Paige's Butterfly Run. Bring the voucher in to the store; the stores will not have the vouchers on hand.
-Customers can also purchase books specifically selected by the Educational Specialist of Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital at each store, and then these books will be given to the Hospital for use by the patients and their families. Vouchers may be used for these purchases as well.
-There will also be beloved authors signing books! Bruce Coville on Saturday June 5th from 4-6 PM at the Clay store and Laurie Halse Anderson on Sunday June 6th from 1-3 PM at the Clay store.
