The CCUMC Health Ministry The CCUMC Health Ministry is ministering to those in need by offering Health, Help, and Hope to our members and people in our community. We have about 15 active team members including nurses, experienced caregivers and others interested in healthcare.
We welcome new volunteers. Please keep this ministry in your prayers. If you have questions or concerns, talk to one of the team members: Lois Cole, Chair; Diane Pelkey, Judy Donnelly; Barb Claver, Shelly Peters, Regina Parker, Pam & Wayne Suddaby.
Here are a few of our ongoing projects:
· A team member is available every Sunday for free blood pressure screening in the Jubilee Room at the end of Fellowship Hall. There’s a flyer with more information on our bulletin board in Fellowship Hall. · Team members knit and crochet pray shawls and lap robes which we distribute to area nursing homes and hospitals for those who need a little warmth and comfort. · We sponsor a visit by the Red Cross Blood Mobile two times a year. The next blood drive in in June. · The Health Ministry hosts seminars and classes to help keep us informed on important health concerns. All our seminars are free and open to the public. (See below for upcoming events.) · We’re hosting a Health Fair at CCUMC this spring. See Lois Cole if your group or organization would like to participate. Or call our church office at (315) 457-9382 for details.
The Health Ministry bulletin board in Fellowship Hall has many pamphlets and brochures, lots of information about our community organizations. Please take them and share them with friends and family. |
