Transforming The World For Jesus Christ…

One Person At A Time

Grace Alone leads worship every Sunday night at 7:00 pm.

Our Grace & Healing Celebration is open to all.

Many churches have an evening service these days, with a re-run of the morning service for people who don't like to get up early. There's something different happening at a little church on Stiles Road near the Seneca Knolls area of Syracuse.  At Christ Community United Methodist Church every Sunday evening at 7:00 pm they hold a "Grace and Healing Celebration."

It's called Grace and Healing Celebration, because when you attend, you are not only a witness to God's grace and healing in the lives of those around you, but you yourself are a recipient of these things. It's a service filled with up-beat positive music that's sure to get you on your feet, and slow meaningful songs that will open your heart to what church is really all about.

A variety of people take turns giving a short message each week - not just the pastor. Sometimes the message is wrapped in a testimony given by someone who's been where you've been, or even where you are now.  Last month members of a praise dance team from South America were the special guests.

A time for healing prayers for bodies, minds, and lives is offered at the conclusion of each Sunday night celebration.

Some examples of what it means to people who attend:

· One of our youth says, "Having Grace Alone lead worship on Sunday nights is an awesome experience. God does some incredible things during that time and many lives, including mine, have been changed. I think everyone should come and experience Grace and Healing.

· A faithful Grace and Healing attendee and member of the Christ Community prayer team said: "Grace celebration helps me make it through the week. I am strengthened, filled, and blessed on Sunday nights in more ways that I could list. "

· Another says, "I have been coming to Grace and Healing for almost two years and it has changed my life. There is a sense of belonging there that is hard to find anywhere else and it's a blessing to see the music we are making bring so many closer to God."

Grace Alone formed as a worship team late Summer in the year 2000. Led by keyboard player and singer, Denise Weeks-Bush, Grace Alone leads worship every Sunday evening at 7:00 at the Christ Community United Methodist Church in the town of Van Buren only two miles from the State Fair Grounds.

Grace Alone features music by contemporary Christian artists like Robin Mark, Paul Baloche, Matt Redman, Don Moen, and Darrell Evans as well as gospel favorites and some hymn arrangements. Grace Alone also plays many songs of their own composition or arrangement.

Grace Alone is a seven member band that features Denise Weeks-Bush on keyboard, Gary Weeks on Bass, Dave Claver on twelve string guitar, B.J. Norrix on six string guitar, Dolores Sherman and Barb Jesmer as vocalists, and Nate Weeks as projectionist.

Grace Alone has led worship in Mexico, Hannibal, Onantavia, Butler, Canastota, at other churches in the Syracuse Area and has played for several coffee houses in the past eight years.
