Mark your calendars for our Winter Event — Simply Hope — on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm, where Frieda Weeks will be speaking to us about the Hope for Heather Foundation’s goal of raising awareness about Ovarian Cancer. If you are interested in coming, of you’d like more information please contact Randa Greer, Michele Wunderlich, or Rachel Valis, or send an email to WomensMinistries@ChristCommunityUMC.com. We look forward to seeing you there! Simply the Reason! A fun gathering of more than 50 women and girls took place on Saturday December 12, in Fellowship Hall. We had loads of fun with an ornament exchange based the Nativity Story, and shared a cup of tea and delicious cookies! Click here to see pictures from this event. The women’s Ministries Team invites the women of the church to come together to get to know each other over a simple meal while they listen to a special message from an invited speaker. Simply Desserts featured our own Cathy Cronk who told of her passion for the children of Zimbabwe after she returned from the mission trip. Simply Apples featured local apple orchard owner Nancy Abbott who entertained us with apple facts and stories. Simply Soup brought us Judy Geyer from New Hope Family Services and gave us a chance to contribute to the need for baby clothes. Simply Music had us singing along with the Rev. Karen Bellimer. Simply American featured Rev. Mary Lou Green, membership coordinator for the League of Women Voters. Simply Dressed brought us Debbie Underwood, Director and Founder of “Dress Our People” who touched our hearts with her stories of how God is blessing that ministry. Simply Flowers found us going to Ballantyne Gardens for a talk on organic gardening. And Tastefully Simple gave us an opportunity to contribute to the Uganda Mission trip.
